Well, that’s my week of Petit Fours done and dusted. What a busy week!
For those who don’t know what petit fours are, they are basically small pastry or french pastry items. They are generally eaten in one or two bites.
The first picture is of my first ever macaroons! I’ve never made macaroons because I never saw why everyone was obsessing over them. Honestly, they’re nothing fancy, hard or that great. The ones I made were “Jaffa” flavoured. Jaffa candy is a sweet confectionery sold in New Zealand. It is a small round candy coated red ball with the insides being orange flavoured chocolate. My macaroon shells were chocolate and the ganache inside has orange zest in it. Tasted really good!
Second picture is one of the petit fours I made. It’s called “vanilla cinnamon crowns” basically a sweet paste base with almonds and cocoa on top. Decorated with chocolate ganache and one of my mini chocolate cigars.
The rest are just a few samples of what we did. A lot of it went to this function that is being held, but we also got to take home a few.
All -in-all, it was great fun! Was a good way to end our chocolate and sugar confectionery paper.
